Fraud involving unemployment benefits rose by 40%
The fraud in unemployment benefits which is detected by the RVA has increased dramatically in three years. Between 2007 and 2010 there was an increase of 40 percent. In 2010, for 68.1 million euros in benefits recovered in 2007 was EUR 48.6 million. According to Secretary of State John Crombez (sp a) this is a consequence of a more intense fight against benefit fraud.
